Take To The Ship

“Talk not to me of blasphemy, man; I’d strike the sun if it insulted me.”

-Captain Ahab

So today and tomorrow there is a completely awesome event happening, a 24-hour reading of that whale of a book, Moby-Dick. The public part of it is at Powell’s, the rest happens tomorrow at a house in North Portland.  I’ll be reading tomorrow, around nine — contact me if you’re interested in attending.  If not, the whole thing is gonna be taped and video’d, so you’re in on this one no matter what.

Also, you gotta read this crazy thing from the Times today: they actually found the remains of the second sunk boat of the dude whose first whale-smashed boat was the basis for Moby-Dick. Like are you friggin’ kidding me?!  So, so, so awesome.  Take to the ship!
