New Scientist asks the brightest minds to predict the next 50 years

 

New Scientist is turning 50 this month, and to celebrate, they’re asking some of the world’s smartest researchers (mostly from Princeton and the totally weird Milton Keynes, UK) to predict the future on a great variety of subjects, from Artificial Intelligence, to Chemistry, to technology, to maths, to ecology.

It’s all great stuff, albeit a little repetitive at times. However, when you read one physicist after another predict essentially the same thing, you can start to feel the symbiosis of a shared consciousness hit a stride. There’s a real lively spirit over there, take a look
